CBShop has been active with a webshop since 1996. Right from the start, products were sold via this website. There was a period when we sold many radio scanners to the USA because we sent them with the telephone tapes open.

Much of what we now consider normal was not there. We often had to reinvent the wheel ourselves and organisations were not at all set up for internet sales.
Payments with credit cards were often done by fax, certainly the approval of payments.
Ideal did not exist, and people simply transferred the money before we sent the product.
In all those years, one webshop quality mark after another also appeared, and we were often approached to participate. Until Thuiswinkel Waarborg came along, there were no serious partners to be found. And Thuiswinkel Waarborg I found mainly expensive and offered little for my customers.
Also, in the 22 years that we have been active, there have been dissatisfied customers, but never a conflict that we could not resolve together with a customer. So we certainly did not need a dispute committee or anything like that. But trust at first sight in an online store has become increasingly important on the internet with more and more providers, including webshops that take customers less seriously.

In 2008 I was approached by Trusted Shops. The most famous European quality mark. To get a certificate from them you have to go through an audit with more than 60 quality criteria before you get this quality mark. This went very far. You could clearly see that they are used to working with large online players such as Zalando and Hornbach. I got the feeling that every word on the site was under a magnifying glass.
And after quite a few adjustments to the website and conditions, it has now reached the point where the guarantee quality mark has been obtained. Another advantage is that foreign customers now know Trusted Shops. And do not see a world-famous quality mark in the Netherlands that means nothing to them.
