There are some 27 Mc radio that can be plugged into your truck directly to 24 volts without inverter
With a 12 volt CBRadio you should put that out before you start the car, because the inverter peak voltage of 24 volts can pass through.
This can lead to irreparable damage. Or S light meter is broken for instance.
 
With a 24 volt 27MC radio does not come to this.
