Whistler TRX-2
Not available anymore, go for the Uniden SDS 200
is a multi adaptive digital trunking scanner with Motorola P25 Phase I, X2-TDMA, Phase II, DMR and NXDN that allow monitoring of the following non-encrypted channels/systems:
Conventional DMR (introduced as DMR trunked system)
Hytera XPT
MotoTRBO. Capacity Plus
MotoTRBO. Connect Plus
MotoTRBO. Linked Cap Plus systems
The Whistler TRX-2 allows the user to group his stored frequencies using up to 200 scan lists plus a dedicated Skywarn scan list. Objects can be assigned to as many Scanlists as desired, giving you complete flexibility for grouping objects and selecting groups in any combination for scanning.
This model features an alphanumeric keyboard with backlighting in addition this model has user-friendly buttons for scanning, pause, select and navigate. Frequencies can be progreamed onto the SD card and can even be programmed by entering a zip code.
Features Whistler TRX-2:
Both the handheld and desktop models feature a fully backlit alphanumeric keypad in addition to user-friendly buttons for Scan, Pause, Select and Navigation.
Frequency coverage is:
25 - 54 MHz
108 - 136.99 MHz
137 - 174 MHz
216 - 512 MHz
764 - 781.99 MHz
791 - 798.99 MHz
806 - 960 MHz
1240 - 1300 MHz.
Upgradable CPU, DSP and library
Programmable audible alarms can be configured to alert when certain scannable frequencies are active. Can be used in conjunction with, or separately from, the alert LED described above.
Date- and time-stamped recorded audio files and the alarm clock feature allows you to program the scanner to wake up and scan at a specific time each day.
Predefined service request sets make it easy to find activity in your region.
With the extended V-Scanner II (VS-II) storage system, you can use the TRX-2 PC application to store up to 200 V-Scanner configurations on the MicroSD card, which can be recalled in the field at any time using the radio keypad.
Industry-standard Composite USB interface with support for USB mass storage (MSD) and serial data (CDC). Open the MicroSD card without removing it from the radio, send decoded Control Channel data and upgrade your radio's firmware via USB. Mini USB cable included.
The TRX-2 detects and masks digital voice audio and decodes RadioID / TalkgroupID data embedded in voice packets.
Uses an industry-standard MicroSD card to store the RadioReference data library and all your programming capacity for millions of stored objects! Supports cards up to 32 GB
Scans most common signaling formats with trunking system, including Motorola, EDACS, LTR and P25 trunking radio networks. Both call groups and individual call monitoring are supported.
Fast sweeps the TRX-2's frequency range for transmissions from nearby sources. When a nearby station is found, the TRX-2 automatically tunes to that frequency and receives traffic. Lock found frequencies and continue searching in the same band.
Customize existing programming or add new objects to be scanned and keep your TRX-2 firmware and library data up-to-date.
The backlight can be programmed to flash with custom flash patterns when certain objects are active, in another way that alerts the operator when important radio traffic is present. shows the weather event and sounds an alert for a particular county or counties of your choice.
Scan sets extend the functionality of scan lists by allowing you to define different combinations of enabled scan lists as scan sets. You can then select one or more scan sets for scanning with a simple menu system. With scan lists and scan sets, you have unlimited options for grouping, activating and deactivating objects for scanning.
Displays the relative strength of received signals. Slim, compact case design with textured exterior finish and large speaker - Designed for durability, one-handed operation and ease of use.
Provides instant access to frequencies used by storm spotter networks. Track storm conditions as they occur, and become aware of dangerous conditions before the media or safety officials can report them to the general public
The complete U.S. and Canadian databases from www.radioreference.com are stored on a standard MicroSD card included with the TRX-2, giving you access to the most comprehensive radio data available without connecting the TRX-2 to a computer or the Internet ! Free downloads of updated database, CPU and DSP firmware.
Keep your radio's CPU and DSP firmware and RadioReference library up-to-date with improvements and updates as soon as they become available with free upgrades!
Programmable three-color LED displays thousands of colors that can be used to indicate different types of activities or activities on special channels. Program color sequences with multiple colors for special alerts, even emulate the red/blue flash of police vehicles.
